The universe is so vast it's hard to imagine . Each galaxy contains millions to trillions of stars. Many stars have their own planetary system like our sun. The stars you see in the night sky are in our own home, the Milky Way. Most objects here are gas formations within our galaxy. Other galaxies shown are millions to billions of light years away. A light year is the distance light would travel in 1 earth year, 186,000 miles per second x the numbers of seconds in a year. To think life on earth is the only life in the universe doesn't seem likely.  Please enjoy this tiny glimpse or our vast universe!
